About

Early Life

Chris Clasen began freelance consulting work in the 90’s in Southern California, but the story of where his business begins starts much earlier in life.

When Chris was completing high school, his summer job involved being a lifeguard, where he rescued a four-year-old child from drowning…Saving his first life forever made an impression upon him as an emergency responder, where he later volunteered his service as a Disaster Responder for the American Red Cross, City Firefighter, and Olympic Security Officer, in floods, wildfires, and earthquakes and subsequently received the highest university of California award for community services during his college.

Post-Grad

Being a service provider to people and the greater community is a core value Chris brings to his practice.

Service providers promote trust, integrity, teamwork, simplicity, and excellence for the benefit of others. Chris’s first professional job was on a test site that was first used for the Apollo Program (Lunar exploration). During his early work engagements he encountered danger professionally as part of his daily life to design, build and operate systems which could stand the rigors in space (rocket engines, unexploded reactives, unknown compressed gases, giant confined spaces, radiation, million gallon tanks, fires, highly toxics, solvents and pollution that later resulted into superfund proportions).

As a consulting service provider, Chris got his first start in the High Technology industry sector providing engineering consultation in developing model building and fire code practices using his mechanical and civil engineering degrees.

The Start

He later went on to develop his own consulting practice in 2000, while providing for a young family in Colorado.

During this time he served as a sub-contractor to small and large consulting firms, he serviced manufacturing organizations, professional employers organizations, the federal government, and small and medium-sized businesses, on construction projects, all while learning to run a successful business.

For nine years, Chris grew his career in private industry obtaining certifications as a Fire Inspector, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Emergency Manager, ISO Lead Auditor, a Six Sigma Brown Belt, a LEED Green Associate, and he began to become recognized as a subject matter expert in these areas.

Chris continued to serve the community in Boulder County as a local emergency planning committee member and hazardous materials expert, which led his receiving an award in 2003 for his exceptional act of services toward the public safety of the community.

Chris became the leader in safety for the largest agri-chemical provider in the world and learned the value of enabling people to have access to food globally; he learned how to manage thousands of risks, hundreds of serious incidents, and dozens of fatalities.

Here & Now

In 2009, Chris returned to his own consulting practice in the Oil and Gas industry, and in information technology, working in multiple areas of enterprise risk, software applications, ISO quality management systems, and governance.

Consultants bring value by focusing on a particular need and Chris continues to do this in his business today. Clasen & Associates, LLC was founded in 2021 to bring value to each client by providing reliable, responsive, and affordable solutions. C&A LLC has assisted many types of businesses, trade practices, non-profit organizations, and government public services.

It is through these avenues that we take pride in helping the community, while still being able to address the more difficult matters that are needed.
